Power and Infidelity

Tiger Woods - the multi millionaire golfer, married to a beautiful blonde model and father of two kids has been accused of various infidelities with some sexy ladies.

There is the incident of the crashed car, the broken tree, the cut lip and the car windows smashed up by a gold club wielding wife.

It all sounds like the words from a hit song of a country girl’s latest album.

Each day the newspapers reveal yet another pouting babe who has a story to sell, more damning revelations about the boy wonder golfer, the kid we all watch grow up getting a hole in one has finally fallen from grace.

The double entendres are going to feed comedians as long as this story line lasts, we can’t get enough of jokes about balls, holes and swinging clubs.

Personally I don’t really care about whom Tiger or for that matter any other man who screws other women outside his marriage, it’s not my business nor anyone else’s to be honest.

The problem is the public LOVE a good old unfaithful newstory.

There is something gruesome about obsessing over rich, famous people when their glossy perfect lives get screwed up. We (the public) somehow can’t wait for the glitter to fade and the imperfections to crack the surface.

Then it just proves to us mere mortals that no matter how thin, rich and glamorous the beautiful people are, they eventually become as unhappy and as screwed up as us ordinary folk.

What actually gets my bile rising is the way the females who allegedly bedded the Tiger are being portrayed as ‘predatory sex beasts’.

How hard was it for them to get the golf boy naked and into their leggy clutches?

The women aren’t any more manipulative than the men who have sex with them in secret, the problem I have is that the women demand to be paid off to shut up.

Some would say that the women who have sex with rich powerful men have every right to sell their story, I am not so sure.

Nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel was set to spill the beans about her alleged affair with Tiger Woods – but pulled out of a press conference after frantic calls from the Wood’s lawyers, it was claimed.

She cancelled a press conference at the last minute, citing “unforeseen circumstances”.

She was widely expected to admit that she DID have a relationship with the golfing ace, despite earlier denials and US reports claimed that Uchitel has begun negotiating a $1million deal to remain silent.

Tiger Woods is now being accused in the press of throwing money at the various women in his life to keep the peace, including his wife Elin who has called in the lawyers to renegotiate her prenuptial agreement so that if she stays, her leaving pay-packet soars from $20million to $300 million if they divorce later.

I suppose when you call in lawyers to sort out your future divorce cash package before you call in a marriage guidance to sort out your emotional welfare - the outlook for the relationship might always be bleak.

Hopefully the worlds press will turn away from staring at this particular emotional car crash and maybe focus on more pressing world events, like the Iraq War Inquiry.
